Statement of Spirituality

Our school's shared understanding of spirituality

Nurturing growth, inspiring achievement. Isaiah 58:11

At our school we understand spirituality as ‘tending the garden within us’, a practice that helps us to ‘look out at the wider world, look up to find our purpose and look in to grow’. We achieve this by:

Looking out with compassion

We actively cultivate empathy by making opportunities to connect with the experiences of others, recognising our shared humanity. This school-wide practice means we treat everyone with kindness, support those who are struggling, and work together to make our community a welcoming and happy place.

Looking up with wisdom

We foster a sense of curiosity and wonder, inspiring a shared search for meaning that connects us to something larger than ourselves. For some this may aligned with a specific religious faith and understanding, for others it might be the awe and wonder experienced when exploring the universe, the natural world, and our planet's place within it.

Looking in with responsibility

We promote honest self-reflection and accountability. This means we try to understand our own motivations, owning our actions, and taking responsibility for our choices. This practice builds integrity and strengthens our entire community from within.
