Loving All Our Neighbours

#TravelSafely

The Department for Transport has issued advice on how parents and pupils can travel to school safely as part of the #TravelSafely campaign.

The advice reiterates that public transport should be avoided if possible.

Need to travel? You can reduce pressure on the public transport system by:
• Working from home
• Walking or cycling whenever you can or travelling by car
• Shopping locally or less frequently

Plan your journey: If you have to use public transport, aim to:
• Avoid peak times
• Plan ahead and use a direct route
• Wear a face covering
• Always wash your hands before and after travelling
• Seek assistance if you need it

On your journey: If you have to use public transport, aim to:
• Keep 2 metres apart
• Use contactless payment
• Wait for passengers to get off before you board
• Follow instructions from transport staff
• Be considerate to fellow passengers
• Wash or sanitise your hands as frequently as possible

Completing your journey:
• Walk or cycle to your destination from public transport where possible
• Always wash your hands before and after travelling

Anyone arriving at school will be asked to wash their hands upon arrival and everyone is encouraged to walk or cycle if they can.

Thank you,
Mr Rhodes
