Assessment
We believe the key purpose of assessment is to move children on in their learning and inform the teachers’ future planning. Pupils must be given specific feedback on their work to help them understand how they can improve. In every lesson or unit of work children are informed of the learning objectives and are encouraged to evaluate their progress towards these objectives.
Continued monitoring of each child’s progress gives a clear picture of what each child is doing and allows the teacher to identify areas of strength or weakness which can inform future planning. Our Assessment Policy outlines the methods of assessment used in the school.
