Our topic for this half term is 'Let It Shine!'.
In English, we are writing formal and informal letters based on the powerful short story; The Giant's Necklace. Check out some of our writing so far in a few pictures below.
Also in English, we are studying The Piano by Aidan Gibbons. It's a short animation about an old man reminiscing. The children learn about flashbacks in narratives and have the opportunity to write a descriptive text which includes a plethora of grammatical devices.
Our science topic is all about light. Children will be learning about how light travels and how the human eye works. We will be linking the topic to art, by practising some sketching and shading techniques.
In history, we are learning about the Mayan Civilisation. Finding out how they lived, what they ate, games they played and much more...

Monday - Maths homework set online or in folder.
Due the next day.
Tuesday - English homework in folder.
Due in on Thursday.
Wednesday - spelling test and new spellings given out to learn for next Wednesday.
Thursday - Topic homework given out in folder.
Due in the following Monday.
Friday - no homework set. But read, please!!!
